    Description

    It’s hard for restaurants to afford the luxury of alfresco dining in space-starved cities such as Hong Kong. That’s why Gaia Ristorante is an immediate charmer, located by a piazza with fountains and a small garden. Food here leans towards a classic style, consisting of favourites such as burrata cheese with nutty Parma ham and dried tomatoes.

    Be sure to try the soft-boiled Italian eggs, a decadent starter topped with earthy wild mushrooms and black truffle. Stir in the sweet, caramelised yolks and mix it all up for a melange of savoury and rich flavours. Pasta is a must at any great Italian restaurant, and Gaia Ristorante delivers on all counts through standout dishes such as the macheroni (macaroni). The narrow tube pasta is laden with tangy tomatoes and salty cured pork cheek, topped off with generous shavings of pecorino Romano cheese. Desserts are sweet treats worth keeping space for.
