    Description

    Opened in 2015 by head chef Wilson Yeung, Mr Tomahawk is a steakhouse steeped in history. Yeung is the son to founder of the original Louis Steakhouse brand established in 1974, known for its American-style steaks that were a favourite amongst local tycoons. At Mr Tomahawk, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with a view of the city, but the menu takes inspiration from the old-school steakhouse. You’ll find the expected freshly-shucked oysters on the appetisers menu, along with Crabmeat Stuffed Avocado and Oven-Baked Whelks served on a bed of creamy mash. The steak selection is straightforward, with four USDA prime steaks to choose from. Opt for the USDA Bone-In Prime Ribeye Steak for extra flavour, and pair this with a side salad and beer-battered chips. Meats are the star of the show here, and Mr Tomahawk also serves up Barbecued Durco Ribs that are cooked over flames for a charred, smoky finish. For seafood, tuck into Pan-Seared Scallops or try the Fresh Garoupa, a local fish simply chargrilled and finished with rock salt and plenty of freshly-cracked black pepper. (Jan 2019)
